UPDATE NO. 2

January 10, 2012 UPDATE

MASONIC TRIP TO SCOTLAND

APPLICATION FORM

I have just received a confirmation of a Lodge visitation in Scotland. I am absolutely delighted.

The Lodge concerned is Lodge Trafalgar No. 223 located in Leith, Edinburgh.

This was my father's home Lodge.

Pending approval by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Edinburgh, we will exemplify parts of the three Canadian Craft degrees.

This is an old and venerable Lodge. Their Lodge room has a representation of a sailing ship's bridge at one end and a ship's bell features in some of their work.

I look forward to a great evening.

Another couple of quick updates. In the past two days, two more Brothers have joined the trip.

Have received confirmation from Lodge Kilwinning No. 0 who will be happy to welcome us for a tour of their Lodge on the first Sunday we arrive.

Important Update

There is no outward flight on the day I had proposed. If it is OK with all who have agreed to attend, I suggest we change the dates from April 21 to May 5 to the new dates of:

April 18 to May 3. There are flights on those dates at the same cost.

 Please let me know ASAP.

Hope this gives you plenty time to make alternate arrangements. Outward bound 19:30; Inward bound 10:15.

 Sorry for the inconvenience.

 Roy Cummings

PS: Some people have asked if those dates are fixed. Simple answer is NO! Should you want to stay longer or shorter, leave earlier and come back earlier or later, the choice is yours. Just remember that we will plan certain lodge events within the trip dates.

My Brethren:

Glad to hear that many of you have now booked your airline tickets for Scotland 2012.

I have just completed letters to a number of Lodges. Permission has been sought to exemplify the Work. If that is not possible, we will simply attend as a delegation and see Scottish Degrees.

Permission has been received to make daytime visits to Lodge Kilwinning No. 0 and Lodge Cannongate Kilwinning No. 2 (the oldest Lodge Room in the world).  We will be doing a tour of this Lodge room.
Here is a list of the Lodge requests. Every meeting will be in a different Lodge Room.

Cannongate Kilwinning No. 2. - April 25

Lodge Edinburgh St. Andrew No. 48 - Thursday, May 26

Lodge Edinburgh Defensive Band No. 151 - Tuesday, May 1

Lodge Trafalgar No. 223 - Tuesday, April 24

Lodge Anim No. 1223 (Glasgow) - Tuesday, May 2

Lodge St. Leonard's Newington No. 1283 - Monday, May 23

Merry Christmas to all.

Roy Cummings
