CORRIN BLOOD DONOR -- DISTRICT B
I have been donating
blood since I was 18. At the time I thought I would follow in my fathers
footsteps since as a child I had to take two steps to keep up to him. Once
in awhile after my father donated blood he would tell me it made him feel
good that he could give something with nothing in return except the fact he
was helping someone somewhere. I thought nothing of giving blood when called
upon nor I asked where it was going. All I know that I was helping someone
somewhere.
When my children were
small I used to bring them along with me and they would gladly eat my share
of pop and donuts which were offered at the end of each session. As they got
older I reminded them that pay back time would soon come and I hoped they
would donate because they wanted to.
I have a younger brother
Raymond who is fast on my heels with over 235 donations, my daughter Tricia
has 19 under her belt and my son Timothy who will give his first donation as
I'm giving my 300th.On that day it will be the first time that we all give
together and pop and donuts are on me.
